Kay Sherrill

Kay Sherrill taught in the Texas public schools beginning in 1977 and retired from classroom teaching in 2016 after 18 years at Judson High School in San Antonio. She received her Bachelors in Music Education from Abilene Christian University and her Masters of Music from Southwest Texas State University where she served as choral assistant to Dr. Ken Fulton. Previously Ms. Sherrill taught in Round Rock ISD, Austin ISD, San Angelo ISD, and for the Mesquite ISD. She has taught adjunct courses for Angelo State University and Trinity University. Ms. Sherrill’s choirs have performed at both State and National conventions and served as demonstration choirs for multiple workshops at the Texas Music Educator’s Association convention. 

Ms. Sherrill is active as a singer, clinician, and adjudicator. She has held numerous leadership positions for the Texas Music Educator’s Association and has been a member of the Texas Music Adjudicator’s Association since 1985. Ms. Sherrill has presented convention workshops and staff development training for school districts in Texas. As a professional singer, she is a founding performer and board member of the San Antonio Chamber Choir. Currently Ms. Sherrill works as a consultant and clinician with the secondary choral programs in the San Antonio area.
