Michael Lysinger

Michael Lysinger currently serves as the Chorus Administrator for the Dallas Symphony Chorus and is an active clinician and judge. Before retirement, he taught choral music in Texas for 31 years with the last 14 years as Head Director at J. J. Pearce HS in Richardson. Michael also taught at Jersey Village HS (Houston), North Shore HS (Houston) and Bradley MS (San Antonio). For six seasons, he was the Artistic Director of the Houston Boychoir. Choirs under his direction have appeared at conventions in 2010 (SWACDA), 2008 and 1996 (TMEA), and 2001 (ACDA). He has prepared his choruses for performances with the Houston Symphony, the University of Houston Choruses and the UH Opera. His choirs have toured throughout the USA and abroad on four international tours. In competition, Michael’s choirs earned consistently high ratings and awards for their performances at UIL and festivals. In TMEA, he served as Region and Area Chair, Region Choir Organizer and as a section leader for the All-State Choir. In 2012, Michael was selected as Teacher of the Year for Pearce High School. He received his BMed from Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas and is a member of ACDA, TMEA, TCDA and TMAA.
